I would love the Fitness Passport to be available to Salvos Australia. It is currently in QLD and has been for several years.

Claire, yes, I spoke to Susan Hecker from HR a few years ago about the Fitness Passport and this is what I was told back then. That they had it in QLD and they were looking into it. This was when we were the Eastern Territory.

I hope that this is made available to the whole of Australia soon.

At the Freedom Centre in Penrith we have a bin for recycling cans/bottles to receive the 10c back which the money goes back into the programs of the Centre.

When I was looking for a bin for this purpose it was difficult as the prices of the bins were expensive (zero budget to purchase) or they were not suitable for the centre.

I would love it if your idea flourish and the Salvos created a recycling centre for the corps/services as it is important that we as individuals and the Salvos are an example and show that we do care about not just the spiritual world but the physical/God's creation!

Renee, the ability to talk to someone about what you are going through is so important, not just because the world is changing every day with the Covid-19.
A while ago the Salvation Army had a phone number that you could call as well as Salvos Counselling. Both these services to me were so crucial to the community.
I pray that a service does make its come back for those that need to talk and know that there is someone there to listen.

When the Mission Support Team purchased the licence for RightNow Media, we created a side for the Salvation Army just for this.
If you log onto your account and go to the Library link within the list there is The Salvation Army.

This is a wonderful idea, I personally have made a flyer of the Greater West for the local community, however, this would be great to have also :D

Fantastic idea, it would also be wonderful that if we have to purchase them that they are at a decent price or for free if possible, as most mission expressions have very little or no budget for these items.

When I started at the TSA, I worked in THQ Sydney. Throughout the year there were 4 orientation days that new staff members attended. We visited OASIS and William Booth House, this gave us a glimpse of what happened within these mission expressions.

10 year later I am now working within one of the social program centres and now understand all of the comments and distance that the front line spoke about. It is unfortunate that this division exists.

I would love to this opportunity for those within the THQ/Divisions to experience at least a week working and engaging with the community within the mission expressions. Not only to connect with the community but to experience the day to day challenges that the front line/mission expressions face.
