Our greatest asset is our people. with the advances of technology it means we can have a wider scope of influence, assistance And peer-to-peer support. Keeping Officers Kids and or pets alive   There are many times when Officers or ministry workers need to leave their home town for ministry reasons. Finding minders for children or pets can be difficult or expensive; especially if pets need to be put into boarding kennels or kids are sent to extended family members.   It has been our experience that family members are able to 'fill the void'. Our corps has a pantec truck for our family stores. When it is not being used for such occasions, it is stored in a shed and does not move. We have many people experiencing homelessness and loss of family in Mackay. This in turn creates gaps in social skills and a sense of being a part of a community. It is for that reason, that I want to foster a change in our connection with people in these circumstances. My idea is called "Welcome Home".
