As Corps' and ministries navigate the rocky roads back to corporate worship under the Covid-19 coloured world, we need to record attendances. Not in the same vain as the old days of SAMIS statistics, but to ascertain wether or not, Covid-19 tracking needs to occur. We have been asked to provide sign in sheets to record names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of attendance and so on.  If you don't have someone on the desk to write people's details, then it is up to the individual ,,,, to...

Salvo Ministry Partners

Many people would understand or have knowledge of sister city programs. These programs pair communities usually with a different city in another country. In a similar vain but closer to home, there is great potential in partnering City Corps with Country Corps. - Regular communication between leadership sharing ideas and resources. - Positions to travel and participate in other cultures. - Opportunities for people to experience ministry in a setting other than they are used to. For...

Salvo Mentor

Our greatest asset is our people. with the advances of technology it means we can have a wider scope of influence, assistance And peer-to-peer support. My proposal is to have the I.T. department develop an ap where mentors and mentorees can be linked, share information, communicate and to pass on time learned lessons.   Many of our retired Officers have a wealth of information and it has been my experience to learn that many still have a lot to give. Why stifle that by age or distance?...

Save A Salvo

Keeping Officers Kids and or pets alive   There are many times when Officers or ministry workers need to leave their home town for ministry reasons. Finding minders for children or pets can be difficult or expensive; especially if pets need to be put into boarding kennels or kids are sent to extended family members.   It has been our experience that family members are able to 'fill the void'. How good would it be to have a 'pool' of qualified people who are willing to travel and mind...

Salvo Move-A-Mate

Our corps has a pantec truck for our family stores. When it is not being used for such occasions, it is stored in a shed and does not move. There are many times when we are made aware that someone needs asssitance in moving small/medium/large items. Although we are not a removalist company, but if we can take advantage of using the assets of our people and the truck to provide another service, we have another way to: . Bless Communities . Create volunteer or employment opportunities (WFD...

Welcome Home

We have many people experiencing homelessness and loss of family in Mackay. This in turn creates gaps in social skills and a sense of being a part of a community. It is for that reason, that I want to foster a change in our connection with people in these circumstances. My idea is called "Welcome Home". When it is made known to us that a member of the community has become socially isolated for (many reasons), their social skills become limited. It has been our experience to learn that their...
