Good Neighbour : Matching "Neighbours in Need" with "Good Neighbours"

Update: 08.07.20 Currently in testing. What is it? Neiighbourly is an app and a website that automatically matches a request for help (neighbour in need) with a verified helper (good neighbour) based on their postcode. How does it work? Users can sign up and request help with a selection of services, or sign up and offer to give help to their neighbours (or both!). Both neighbours in need and good neighbors will be verified from a risk and compliance perspective....

Thanks Lucinda for the feedback! We are not necessarily trying to compete with existing platforms, as we feel The Salvation Army are well placed to get something like this out to help as many people as possible, so that will be our main aim. Totally agree on the privacy and security issues, we are working through these now. Thanks for the support!

No payments at all- just good neighbours helping neighbours.
The phone call option is offered to neighbours in need to try and combat any potential isolation issues, so someone can request to chat on the phone to their friendly neighbour (who has been appropriately trained and verified).

Great points thanks Jacqueline! We are working on these very issues and many more as we speak- accessibility, coverage and importantly working closely with teams internally to ensure we have considered all the potential risks and issues. Thanks for the feedback and support!

I've removed the thread about the voting on this idea as it was off topic and we have no issue with the voting here. Our team have enjoyed watching the tally grow since it was originally posted.

We look forward to seeing how this idea develops as it definitely seems to have the support of many people in need. I'd also like to commend anyone who has English as a second language for having the courage to join in on the process and negotiating the platform- thank you all!
