Salvos on the Move
What if The Salvos commenced a social enterprise removalist service?
It could take paying customers from the general public and provide removalist services, employing people who need a job and train them in this industry, but also provide to those people who access our Social Services, access to free removalist services or at a greatly reduced cost.
We so often find people who are most vulnerable in our community, requesting support with moving furniture, when a tenancy finishes and they have to relocate.
We could also work in with Employment Plus (or other employment agencies) to provide opportunities to job seekers to be employed in this removalist social enterprise.
What Department are you from?
Community Engagement
Who is your target market?
Community members accessing our services for assistance with removalist costs/services.
General public who require general removalist services.

Yes please. The ACH program are regularly having to find funds to pay for removalists for our clients. Not all clients fit the criteria to be funded by Housing Connect.

Fantastic idea, helping as an enterprise by providing low cost removals for community members that can afford and supporting those through our programs and outreach experiencing hardship and injustice.

A lot of people forfeit their rental bonds as they have to leave their furniture at the property because they can't afford removalists
