Kids Online Evangelism

An online platform for Kids Evangelism and Discipleship.

While there is a lot of kids material out there, most of it is American and aimed at Church kids. But what about unchurched working class Australians? We have found the the existing material doesn't translate and we have had to make our own if we wanna reach working class, indigenous and multicultural Australia.

Salvation Crew would have two parts. Online content that kids could view, and opportunities for kids to connect and contribute.

As well as online, the material could be used in Kids Clubs, Sunday Schools, even Kids in the Kitchen or any other kids connection point..

It would include: Original kids songs (aimed at sharing gospel truths with                                                                                   unchurched kids)

Bible stories (told by kids leaders and Indigenous elders)

Testimonies (from adults and kids in our demographic)

Audience contributions (kids could respond by sending in their                                   videos, commenting on forums and joining zoom meetings.)

Salvation Crew could include contributions from talented kids leaders from around the territory. It would be pulled together to make a well produced resource that could lead the way for kids Evangelism in Australia.

Below is an example of what it could look like.

Love this! We have a number of great examples of similar material being put out during COVID, would be great to be able to collaborate and resource Australia with evangelical Australian content!

100% agree. It would be so good to have something for "Our People".
I know Rooty Hill anglican church did some online content which tackled the right demographic, but I've not found any others.

Take a look at JRevTV who have posted on here recently, would be good to get some collaboration with different expressions across the country!

Hey Philip - some good thinking here. I loved hearing recently of a young boy who dressed in a Salvo t-shirt on "Who's my hero" day at school - love kids to be able to share in a zoom meeting around that.

Good concept. Collaboration with others doing similar is essential. I note Renee has said there are similar productions happening. I strongly suggest involving Kidzone team which already has many resources. This could also give access to Kidzone professional writers. Filming quality crucial and Salvo Studios needs to be have input if this idea gets through. Salvo Studios can advise on script writing as well as filming. FYI Kidzone and Others ran the story of the boy who wore his Mum's Salvo shirt to school for hero day.

Yes for sure! I know lots about making new disciples from scratch. We and others have had experience seeing what works. But our technical know how is limited. To have professional input speaking into and contributing to the production quality would be amazing. That's what we've wanted to take this idea to the next level.

This is great, thanks guys!
It would be good to gather all of the ideas that are similar to this one and pool them into a resource. These could be played alongside current programs or used as a starting point in places that have no kids' programs.

Yes exactly. Sometimes it's hard to start a kids program when you haven't got many leaders. But even if you've got 6 or 7 kids or even one family, you could watch a short vid with them and have a chat. Kids could even run it themselves with their neighbours.
The great thing we found with videos is, you can make copies and send them home with the kids. So instead of just hearing a gospel truth once on a Friday night, they are hearing it repeatedly throughout the week. They start to really learn it. And now with youtube it's so easy.

Great idea, and could be shared by other Territories also. I am currently serving in New Zealand and we could use such a resource here at the corps.

That would be amazing!

Love this idea - particularly the aim of having material to reach 'non-churched' kids. I also completely agree with the comments below - how good would it be to pull all the similar ideas together and produce a super profession/top quality resource.

Thanks Joanne. Yes, with the right format and professional presentation you could have contributors from all over doing stuff. Be great to have things like testimonies and Bible reflections coming from all around Australia.

Thank you Edward. It's been great having Auburn kids contribute to the small ones we've done so far.

This is a great idea - I know myself I have had to use alot of American things during Covid and sometimes it just doesn't carry across the best to our culture. I spend hours and hours trying to find suitable resources to stay connected with our families at our church.
