OOSH Youth Connect

OOSH Youth started early March 2020. We managed to have our first youth group and our first Youth Alpha in person before Covid hit. Since then we have been connecting online via Zoom, email and socials. In chatting with our youth and young adults - it became really apparent that they want to stay connected online during Covid AND moving forward. Not all of our young people have easy access to connect online. We want to purchase an iPad to be used as we continue to connect online and via...

Revamped Hang Space

Our youth love to hang and catch up, but our hang space is looking a little worse for wear. We would like revamp the space with games, bean bags and other decor so that the youth can enjoy the space we provide for them and connect in new and exciting ways.

Connecting with the Youth and Community in a time of need

The community is currently isolated due to COVID 19. At CY Calamvale we want to help youth stay connected through digital and missional avenues. The timeline for this project would be over a 9 month period with continued zoom connection. We propose the following: 1: Create a space for the young people of the corps and community to meet up 1-2 times a week to talk and hang out, as well as engage and study the word of God. The ideal location for this would be via zoom. One night per week...

Ride surprise!

We did some brainstorming in Gunnedah and came up with the idea to connect with both the community and our youth.  We have a small number of youth so we thought now that we can exercise in groups, perhaps we could go for a bike ride together. Most of our youth have a bike and we have a spare bike we can loan to someone who needs it. We could wear matching shirts and have matching drink bottles with a bible verse.... Then as a mission project we could purchase locally made soaps, candles or...

Reunion party: Bubble Soccer

Once Covid-19 restrictions have sufficiently lifted so that we can have our whole youth group meet together at the Camberwell Corp, we would like to have a big party and to hire bubble soccer gear. This would be a great way for all the youth to let out all the pent up steam from isolation and the lack of sports  as well as a way to have a great start back into youth group. Youth night would include a good food spread and two hours of games and fun. Prices: For a package that would be...

Reconnecting around the (Table Tennis) Table

We would like to replace our current, old and broken table tennis table with a new, safer table as a surprise for our young people when our youth ministry is able to gather again. We’d also like to put some money towards new tshirts and hoodies for our youth ministry.

Staying Connected and Celebrating

We would like to continue and enhance our online youth ministry with a Zoom subscription, buying some Jackbox games and to send prize packs to our young people. We would also love to plan a post-covid re connection event at Bowling and Laser Tag.

Fun plus one!

We have 3 incredible teenagers at the corps who despite not having a structured youth ministry are each involved in ministry and mission using their strengths and gifts. We want to honour and celebrate them and their faithfulness. We want to have fun and reconnect as family but also create an opportunity for them to invite a friend.   We have listened to them and they are keen for a fun day out on the beautiful Lake Macquarie after being cooped up inside for so long. Many YP...
