TSA Second Chance Complex

A large undertaking not for the faint hearted.   Owning and running a correctional centre is usually reserved for Federal/State governments or large multi-nationals.   It’s a business requiring considerable investment, research, insight and collaboration with the Department of Corrective Services. And though it’s a business, it’s also an opportunity to inject hope, compassion and life-changing purpose into people’s lives. Or take it away. The Alexander Maconochie Centre in...

Salvos drive through Coffee Booth

Many Corps have car-parking land that isn't getting utilised during the week, Therefore, I suggest that we create a pod like structure (that is only 1 car park in size) that can be placed on the land and sell drive through coffee/tea.  If we brand the coffee cups with a red shield and say, "every coffee you drink helps fund the work of the Salvation Army in Australia." we could gain national recognition and promotion with Australians. Some other important notes would be 1) Our...

Fundraising

I think we should encourage our staff to sacrifice one annual leave if possible so that this money can be utilized for our mission work.

Salvos branded face masks - PPE

Salvo's washable and reusable face masks. We could place the Shield in the middle of the face mask then a message along the side, for example in God we trust! People anywhere can buy these and the money goes back into our Salvos or our PPE budgets. Plus it's great marketing around Australia and the World as everyone can use these.

Salvos Gaming

Salvos gaming will investigate and look for digital ministry opportunities around the biggest (highest grossing) entertainment industry in the world: video gaming. There is such a mission field here and by utilising platforms such as Discord, Steam and other social platforms and consoles, the Salvos can have a missional presence on the digital frontier.  How to convert this to $? This could be in reselling of gaming consoles or equipment. But this idea would be more than this... This could...

A place to call home

As the numbers of mature people becoming homeless continue to challenge our community, there are some innovative options that are being canvassed by those who are willing to tackle this problem with practical solutions. One solution is to build numerous purpose-built 1 bedroom self-contained units with a small verandah and courtyard within a communal garden setting where retirees on limited incomes can purchase the unit for a reasonable price (say $120,000) and rent the land that the...

Salvo’s Debit Cards

Lots of large corporate and retail organisations have their own branded debit cards… Doesn’t it make sense that we should have one as well? My understanding of how the card might work is that the bank gets a small fee every time a transaction is made and we could share in that fee… It would be a very small clip, but it would be across many transactions… Also, we could offer a service where every week or month a direct-debit is made from the card - making regular giving that much easier…...

ready steady go salvos

Ready Steady Go Salvos would be a multi-sport program for children of any ages (initial target would be preschool children). The program would teach children the fundamentals of  several different sports and develops essential motor skills in a fun, non-competitive environment. A program like this would enable TSA to create and then grow relationships and brand awareness with the next generation of donors and ministry leaders. Encouraging kids to be physical healthy and...
