In the wake of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, The Salvation Army, along with many other organisations, has been alerted to the need to ensure good practice in all areas of work. One way to reinforce this good practice is through professional supervision. It is likely that it will not be long before professional supervision is not only recommended but mandatory for all ministry workers/pastors. Are we ready for this? Currently there are very few (as...

A number of our corps currently struggle to find musicians to play music during worship services.  This leads to the use of video clips through multimedia presenters such as Pro-Presenter, Easy Worship, and so on. However, finding video clips can be quite expensive, with song clips costing upwards of $20 USD depending on where you get them from.  This makes accessing such a resource financially unobtainable when you think that your average worship service may have upwards of 5 songs each...

It seems to me that most Corps and Centres I visit do not have Efpos machines. This is a triable inconvenience in our ever increasing cashless society. We are not able to receive money for donations or activity subs unless it is cash and cash is become a progressively difficult commodity to use. It would seem that we are lagging behind and losing opportunities to sell or receive money because of our reluctance to move forward in our management in point of sales. I would like to every Corps...

Business Chaplaincy is where a business or company hires from The Salvation Army a chaplain for a period of time (1-3 years) so as their employees and management can gain access to a chaplain to help their staff/management with any emotional help. The tools the Chaplain brings will be the PLP and a listening ear as well as easy access to the wider services of The Salvation Army.

Currently the Salvation Army provides it's officers with Private Health.  If this was turned into a business model where TSA offered Private Health membership to Corps members, TSA could receive bulk discounts from Private Health providers and offer a competitive priced health fund to its members.  Creates a new income stream with a Win/Win situation.

We have an annual campaign to recruit officers. Why don't we have a similar one to encourage people to become soldiers? Without lots of soldiers, we're not going to recruit many officers. And I personally believe soldiership is a meaningful covenant we should be encouraging our people to explore. Have someone go around and film some testimony videos from different soldiers around the country. Find out why soldiership is important to them. Distribute videos to Corps and ask them to play...

Creating a network so that the stores can interchange their stock. Some stores are smaller than others and some have a reputation for the product lines that they have because of limited space and display availability. If there was a way to network the stores so that they can exchange some of the donations that they receive for things that will sell better in their stores it would make a huge difference for the stock levels and the refuse levels. There would be less money going towards...

As a national organisation where there are hundreds of locations and collaboration is regular and encouraged, it would be helpful to be able to access local resources that you would ordinarily have permission to use. Printing Having a standard access card which allows you to print at any location would be very helpful for events, meetings and activities. At Redfern THQ you can: - print to the "YSoft printer" - go to any printer in the building - swipe your card...and it prints out...
